Reminders - Posters can click an image and select 'caption' from the choices to place a caption under each image. Posts can be edited. The next to bottom image reminds me of our very articulate, normally well-spoken former next-door-neighbor, who daily and ritually, upon seeing such undesirable species at her well tended feeders, would holler at full throttle 'get out of here you f*ckers.' Her mother, always proper and perfectly turned out in her mid-nineties, lived with her at the time, deaf and presumably unaware. Grackles and starlings scattered, squawking in upper branches or even across the street, until peace returned to the buffet.
These are great -- number one is our Northern Mockingbird, and he's a recent arrival. I have one or two that have JUST arrived, a welcome reminder that spring migration is already underway, even though we humans won't think its spring for at least another whole month! No. 2 is a White-breasted Nuthatch, no. 3 is a Carolina Wren, no. 4 are European Starlings, and no. 5 is Red-bellied Woodpecker. One thing I love about birding are their names!
